Uplifting Immigrant Communities
San Diego County is home to over 700,000 immigrants. Immigrants and refugees are essential to our transborder region and our County is better because of immigrants.
Immigrant workers are putting their lives on the line doing some of the most essential work right now to take care of our communities, but aren’t being taken care of by our County. For many immigrant workers, disaster means losing their livelihoods while being excluded from the basic safety net that other families count on to shelter, nourish, and care for their loved ones through difficult times. We can and must do better.
